Kubuś was a Polish improvised armored car that was built by Warsaw insurgents in August 1944 during the Warsaw Uprising. This vehicle was built in just a few days in the workshop at ul. Tamka. It was built using the chassis of a Chevrolet 157 truck and steel sheets to protect the crew from enemy fire. Kubuś, armed with machine guns, took part in several combat operations, including an unsuccessful attack on the University of Warsaw. After the end of the uprising, Kubuś miraculously survived the war and is currently exhibited in the Polish Army Museum in Warsaw as a symbol of the courage and ingenuity of the Warsaw insurgents!

Together with the Polish Army Museum we decided to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising! We have prepared a unique brick set with the legendary insurgent car "Kubuś"! The 1:35 scale block model contains prints and all the most important features of its inspiration, which is located in the Polish Army Museum in Warsaw. We didn't even forget about such a little-known detail as the Otter Motor Column emblem on the bumper! Our model is equipped with a DP-28 machine gun. The top hatch can be opened to place a figure inside. Not everyone knows that Kubuś was entered through a hole in the floor! We recreated this unusual entrance in the model! The set includes two figures depicting Warsaw insurgents. We presented a soldier from the Wydra Motor Column, which was part of the Krybar Group, in a gray overalls with a white and red armband on the right arm and an "Otter" patch on the left arm along with a blue cap. The second soldier belongs to the "Rafałki" platoon. What distinguished them from other units was the use of yellow triangular pennants with a skull as German sappers' emblems, which marked a mined or chemically contaminated area. This symbol is located on the soldier's left shoulder. On the side of the helmet, the letter "R" is painted in white, characteristic of this group. Both figures are equipped with accessories like a STEN submachine gun, a Bren light machine gun, a hand grenade and a mine. The set also includes a bottle and a fragment of barbed wire.

The Warsaw Uprising broke out on August 1, 1944, and lasted until October 3. It was an armed action of the Polish resistance movement, mainly the Home Army, against the German troops occupying Warsaw. The aim of the uprising was to liberate the capital before the arrival of the Red Army to ensure Poland's sovereignty after the war. Despite initial successes, the insurgents were unable to maintain their positions in the face of overwhelming German forces and the lack of sufficient external help. After 63 days of fierce fighting, the uprising was suppressed. About 16,000 insurgents and about 150-200,000 civilians died, and the city was almost completely destroyed. The Warsaw Uprising remains a symbol of Polish heroism and patriotism.
