Test of Honour - Onna-Bugeisha with Naginata

The Naginata is a weapon iconic with the Onna-bugeisha. Both men and women used different Naginata, ō-naginata for the men and the ko-naginata for the women. Since the Naginata is naturally slower than the traditional Japanese sword, the ko-naginata's blade was lessened to compensate the lesser height and upper body strength of a warrior woman to a male samurai.
