Magic the Gathering: BIG artwork reveals from San Diego Comic-Con
Alright, fellow MTG fans, listen up! You know how most of the time the future of MTG is a total mystery, right? Well, get ready to get hyped because we're in the middle of announcement season, baby! Comic Cons, Gen Cons, MagicCons, and 30th Anniversary presentations are raining down oodles of news from Wizards!
So, let's get to the good stuff. MTG's Lead Designer, Mark Rosewater, dropped a bombshell during San Diego Comic-Con with a "Visual Teaser" revealing eight images of upcoming MTG products. The catch? He's keeping tight-lipped about what's going on in these pics. But fear not, my friends, because all eight of these goodies will be officially revealed in the next two weeks!
First up, we got a glimpse of what looks like the next premier MTG set. Probably Wilds of Eldraine, with all the golden eggs and geese love going on. Not gonna lie, that goose hydra is pretty intriguing. Wonder if it's a seven-headed Gilded Goose?
Next, we're looking at a slightly revamped version of Old Rutstein. Innistrad, anyone? But with the new Omenpaths allowing multiversal travel, Rutstein could pop up on any plane.
Now, how about a murder mystery plane? Oooh, the suspense! We've been asking for this theme for ages, and it looks like our wishes might come true!
Oh, and check out that wild creature with Dinosaur-y vibes. Ixalan, here we come! This demon's got all the goods: flaming sword, dino arm, feline legs, spiky tail, and skull face. What a combo!
Next, we have a knife-loving MTG character, and we're not quite sure where they're from yet. Maybe Zendikar or Ravnica? Omenpaths, you tricky thing, making it hard to guess!
Theros is making a comeback with a cool hydra! Let's hope the plane's in better shape after the Phyrexian invasion.
Hold up! The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth is making a splash with new Collector Boosters and Bundles. Can't wait to see the new art and maybe even some new cards!
Okay, so we've got this humanoid mouse that could be from a Redwall crossover, but nothing's confirmed yet. Let's keep our fingers crossed!
Alright, folks, don't stress too much about the speculation. All the juicy details will be spilled soon! Mark Rosewater said it himself, all eight products will be officially revealed in the next two weeks.
Keep an eye on MagicCon: Barcelona, Gen Con, and the Wizards Presents livestream on August 15th. The 30th Anniversary Gen Con panel is gonna be massive and give us a peek at the future for the next three years!
So get ready, MTG fans! The mysteries are about to be unveiled, and it's gonna be one heck of a ride!
